CodeFabrik GmbH is a software company based in Osnabrück, Germany. Its work centres on the AI platform skai, which companies, municipalities and associations use to apply artificial intelligence to their own knowledge.

skai connects an organisation’s existing data sources, from file shares, SharePoint, OneDrive and Confluence to websites and email inboxes. It answers questions from that content and shows which documents an answer is based on. On top of this, organisations set up AI assistants for specific tasks and automate recurring processes as workflows, with human approval where required. Roles, separate workspaces and an audit log control who sees which knowledge. skai runs in the cloud, hosted in Germany, or without any cloud in the customer’s own data centre.

Specialised offerings build on the same platform: skai verwaltung for German municipalities and authorities, skai chatbot, which answers website visitors’ questions around the clock from the organisation’s own knowledge, and skai gremium for the work of clubs, associations and supervisory boards.

Since it was founded in 2017, CodeFabrik has also been building custom business software and runs the web-based time-tracking tool ZeitFabrik. The managing directors are Alexander Bartholomäi, Stefan Henke, Christoph Knauft and Sebastian Koch.
